Dr Antonio Toso

Dr Antonio Toso is the director of the Vitreo?Retinal Surgery Unit in the Ophthalmic Department of the St Bassiano Hospital in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. He performs around 350 microincision phacoemulsifications and 100 vitreoretinal surgery procedures almost every year. He organizes a congress in Bassano del Grappa on different topics every year. He is a live cataract surgeon. In April 2013 he organized with his departmental head a meeting with live femto-cataract surgery in Bassano del Grappa, Italy. Currently, Dr Toso is taking part, as investigator, in the European FDA Trial of a brand new hydrophilic IOL by Bausch and Lomb for MICS with implantation in less than 2.0 mm (1.4 mm). Exploring safety, efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound in glaucoma
High-intensity focused ultrasound cyclocoagulation is safe and effective in most refractory glaucomatous eyes. Complete success was achieved in 80% (24/30) of treated eyes that had undergone the maximum of three procedures.
