Is there risk between intravitreal injections and posterior capsule rupture during cataract surgery?

Intravitreal injections and posterior capsule rupture during cataract surgery is there a risk?

Research published in the American Journal of Ophthalmology may have an answer.

Over 62,000 cataract surgeries were analyzed.

The findings: prior intravitreal injection was associated with an increased risk of posterior capsule rupture during cataract surgery.

Interestingly, the number of prior injections, or indications for injections had no bearing on the risk of rupture.
